I have checked and double checked again and I STILL cannot find it. My list covers all of WW2 until at least mid 1945 as it contains VW's produced by the British Army in Germany.
I just cannot find this contract.
The best I can offer is a block of numbers which are correct for this pattern of trailer, made by this company, but not from the same contract.
X5438651 to X5439610 Contract S2487 Brockhouse Trailer 10cwt 2 wheel General Service.
I hate having to admit defeat on this....
Cheers, Ade.
it's not a defeat for you, thanks a lot for all your research!
it's can help me to invent a number for this type of trailer...
if it can help you for later mine have the same ring as the airborne trailer perhaps end of the war or after "please not!"
A last answer can you help me for the electrical plan on this type of trailer?
how put the flood lamp?
if you have some plans....
thanks a lot
regards Froggy
Hi Froggy, I don't have an electrical wiring diagram sorry.
But here is your trailer taken from the post war parts catalogue. Here is is called Trailer, 1/2 ton, 2 wheeled, No.1.
Cheers, Ade.
Another scan from the same list. Note the different pattern tow hitch. Trailer, General Service No.1
Trailer, General Service No.2
Trailer, 1/2 ton,2 Wheeled, No.2
thank you for all this documentations
regards Froggy
Mon plaisir
Hi Adrian,
I am new to the forum and spotted your post above (#12) about the block of numbers. I do have one trailer which is in this block of numbers: X5439519. Is it possible to find out when and where it was made, and possible use after production?
Cheers, Rein
