    Hi, does someone know what type of tank or armored vehicle? that is in this photo? My Grandfather is the one sitting in the middle with the big barrel If you can help ID the vehicle, it would be much appreciated. I have had this photo a long time. and always wanted to know.

    I am not sure if this is stateside or in Europe, he was in the ETO for almost 4 years, Capt. Medical Corp. He died in 1960 when I was 2, so do not remember much of him. Most pics of him he was not very smiley, but I think I detect a small grin in this picture.

    Looks like the top of an U.S. M3 Lee in my opinion...

    Ahhh yes, I see it now, definitely a M3.
    It was the "angle of the dangle" threw me off.
