Hi Ian, I know the technique well, just never seem to be able to get it just right. Do you use a hard or soft brush for the oil paint coat?

Very nice job Ian , great paint work , and detail , awesome , cheers Raymond
Hi Tom
I have a tendency to use pure sables for the majority of my painting.
The sables that I use are from the Games Workshop range, not cheap, but good and they hold a point well if looked after.
I usually use man-made/nylon for general work/base-coating etc.
Hope this is of some help.
Any probs drop me a PM and I will see what I can do to help you out with tips and hints etc. (Same goes for anyone else who is interested. I'm no expert, but I do know my stuff)
I just turned 47 at Christmas and have been making models since I was about 5! since my grand-father bought me my first Airfix kit of a Churchill Vll tank!
Regards etc
Some more of my models guys, this time in the smaller scales of 54mm. These are mainly metal figures.
Hope the detail comes out ok.
The first ones are of an Airborne soldier, Arnhem 1944.
Next is a German Combat engineer, 1944. As an aside, the rushes on this figures base are actually badger hair and came from a British 1944 dated shaving brush.
Just for something different. The last one is 120mm and started out as a German Tank Crewman but ended up as a British Red Cross Ambulance Crewman 1990's
Regards etc
Ian

Thanks for that mate.
I love the Verlinden 120mm figures and accessory packs, I just wish they weren't so expensive, (I lost my job last year so have to watch the pennies which is why I am now working through the "to do cupboard!"
I just need to get my photography skills sorted now so that I can get better pictures to put on here, going to try natural light with the next lot of pics that I do.
Regards etc
