Airfix used to do a 1/72 scale kit of the Sunderland years ago, I'm not sure, but I think they currently have it on re-release.

I used to have the Airfix kit when I was a kid. This was long before I found out about my Uncle Sid flying in them.

I have added some pic in the aircraft forum of preserved examples found at Duxford and Hendon.

Sorry Nick, I overlooked your previous one. The unit was stationed at RAF Alness.

Pete, thanks for the image. The Germans had a healthy respect for the Sunderland and nick named it the "Flying Porcupine" due to all the gun turrets.

Hi Guys

There is an intact Sunderland submerged somewhere close to Pebroke dock in Wales with several other Sunderland wrecks and parts nearby, Ive been meaning to get down to the small museum there sometime and learn more, I heard rumours that there were plans to raise it, but nothing since. Its one of my favourite aircraft of ww2. If anyone can elaborate on the project please post here.
