I like it,lot of time indeed, worth every minute, great on the eye and the detail is superb,congrats.............
Well done Bob..you attention to detail is excellent. 3 months is worth the effort.
I built these when I was a teen but could never grasp getting the groundwork laid and making the dirt stick. Most of my dioramas was dirt laid on top with high edge borders . I stayed with that into my mid high school years and got side tracked by boobs and butts. Tricky balance not sure if it was good or bad..but back then .. I thought it was good ...Good food is a priority first as I get older. lol
I would build my own scenes and try my best to copy the work of Monogram Models artist Shepard Paine. That guy was a Prophet back in the day and his patience and detail was his success. Then I got stunned by the 1/35th scale Tamiya artist/s . The local hobby store had a model catalog showing many dioramas..which I would go there once a week as a youth to view it over and over like porn. .
I got away from Monogram and got into Tamiya .
Do you have any more dioramas bob that you have built to share? All of mine are gone to time....which my Hobby studes and collecting efforts replaced my model building....yet Im not that old and I still "Look" at boobs and butts
Thanks for sharing your diorama..well done

Hi Larry and thank you for the complements on the diorama. I got a chuckle out of what distracted your model building. Back in the early 80's I was into HO scale model railroads and that is where I learned about scenery. I took a long break in between then and when I created the two dioramas shown on the Forum here starting with this one built a couple of years ago. There are just these two, The US artillery scene and the Spoils of War diorama built to add a little something extra to my military collection room display.
And as for your comment "yet Im not that old and I still "Look" at boobs and butts" I hope I never get that old either! Thanks, Bob
