Very seldom seen postcards from Starobielsk Camp. First one dated 12/6/1939, and second dated 1/9/1940.
Both cards content is very sad.
And there is no picture of Captain Regiec that I could find.
He was in Army Reserve since 1928.

Firsty I would like to thank you for creating this thread and sharing your knowledge and resources on this issue.

I am seeking information on my mother's grandfather who was a border guard who went missing in the early days of the war. Supposedly he was stationed somewhere in modern day Belarus. Unfortunately I have very little information to share regarding my great grandfather. All I have are these two photos and his surname, Dybała. It is presumed that his first name was Jozef, but my mother cannot remember his first name as her parents rarely spoke of the topic, so deeply were they traumatized by the war. Can anybody determine anything by his uniform insignia? Are there any entries in any casualty lists regarding nazwisko Dybała? I noticed in an earlier thread a photo of a police officer with the number 16 on his epaulettes, perhaps my great-grandfather was in the same unit. My grandfather is the little boy at the bottom left.

If anybody can shed any light on this, it would be most appreciated.

    Hello Lech,

Many thanks for your post about your Maternal Great Grandfather, the photographs show him in Police Uniform, his individual Police Number is worn on the Collar of his uniform in the first photograph 5933, it also shows him wearing the Cross of Valour and Bar denoting 2 awards of this decoration.

The Number on his Epaulette 16 refers to the Police District he was serving in which I have yet to search for.

I have taken the liberty to post some drawings of Police Uniforms Ranks etc, which might be of some use to you :
