    Dear all,

I am looking for any information regarding my great-grandfather.
I will try to put down as much information as I can. Unfortunately my grandfather passed away when he was very young. I never met him.

My family lived in East-Prussia. I believe that the village where they lived became Polish after WW1.

His name was Wilhelm Mogilowski. I was told by my grandmother that he was an officer in the Polish army, and killed in 1939.

I hope there might be someone here to help. Thank you very much in advance,

    Jan

Jan. Do not worry about it. If that is the problem, some forum administrator will move it to the right place

Hi Jan, thread moved to the pre-WW2 section. Best wishes in your hunt for information about your grandfather.

    Hello Jan,

Many thanks for your post re your Great Grandfather, I have viewed the Rocznik Oficerski (Officers Yearbooks) for 1923, 1932 and the Reserve Officers Yearbook for 1934, with no joy in finding Wilhelm Mogilowski.

I will look through the 1924 and 1928 Yearbooks to see if I can find him for you and will post my results.

    Welcome to the Forum

    Best wishes

    Hello Jan,

I have also looked through the Rocznik Oficerski 1924, 1928 and the Legion Officers List from 1917, all without finding your Great Grandfather listed, your best cause of action would be to write to the Polish Army Records Centre near Warsaw and ask them for a copy of all records that they have on your Great Grandfather.

The address to write to is listed below :

    Central Military Archives
    ul. Czerwonych Beretów 124
    00-910 Warsaw-Rembertów
    Poland-Polska

    Best wishes

    Andrzej

p.s. Please let us know how you get on.
