ccj, super idea for a thread! I’ll start off by posting one of my favorite portraits, that of Lt. Colonel Stefan Szlaszewski, CO of the 2nd Podhale Rifle Regiment looking resplendent in his uniform adorned with badges and decorations.
He is weariing the traditional Polish highlander “kapelusz” which was used by the six Podhale Rifle Regiments. Along with this hat was the traditional use of a cape, also visible in the photograph.

In all honesty, I have to say this thread is infuriating. For close to five years now, I've been desperately searching for an authentic pre-war rog (as Tony can attest to). To be honest, I think the main reason for me moving to Poland was to be closer to that elusive and mythical hat. And have I been able to find one? No!
While I sit here rog-less, IvanPutski brashly displays the creme de la creme of Polish military caps. Can anyone tell me the sense in this!?!
A rog, a rog, my kingdom for a rog!
Cheers,
Brandon
Sorry. Ivan does not mean to offend.
