Hi all,,,what are your thoughts on this piece?...Robert
Hello,
I have never seen one like this before, it would have belonged to an Enlisted Man (private) up to the rank of a senior NCO, if it is genuine, it would have most likely been carved in the field or maybe in the barracks.
The motto is of the Polish armed forces (Honour and Motherland/Fatherland) which was usually found on officer's dress daggers, the Eagle looks to be carefully (acurately) carved and well detailed . The Eagle ? inside the shield I do not recognise, an official or unofficial unit insignia perhaps.
