Pre-war Badge thread

Fakes have laser engraved maker marks and serial numbers. The hallmark and maker marks are stamped which is good but all of the Gontarczyk's ZP badges I have seen to date were either hand or stamped numbered. Reising's badges were not numbered. The spinner is genuine but it may come from another badge which is an old trick. Judging the badge by the threaded post perhaps a late replacement. A bit puzzling badge to me.

As Kosa said, original Gontarczyk badges had either manually stamped or engraved serial numbers. From the few examples I've seen it seems that the silver officer grade badges had the stamped serial numbers, such as thsi one from my collection which has been deliberately converted to pinback or repaired in this manner because the original post was lost:

The main red flag with your badge is the thread post. Original badges have a manually finished ends to the post. The post on your badge has a modern machine finished end, typical of many modern copies.

Recent sale. Officer grade Adam Nagalski made Batalion Manewrowy (Maneuver Battalion) badge in exceptional condition. Rarely seen in any condition. Sold for the equivalent of 1577USD / 978GBP.

Hi Igor,

It’s the first time I am seeing this badge and this maker name. The style of the spinner is reminiscent of those seen on post war makers though, so this may be a post WW2 product. Sorry that I cannot offer more information.

pre-ww2 Jewish maker is my guess.
