Interesting. Can you give me an example of 2 different individuals with the same personal number? That's how I have actually started my research but failed due to lack of research material gathered. It would be interesting to check if 2 guys with the same number would come from the same unit.
    Cheers

Hello! What you can say about this dog tag? I'm sure it's genuine. What "OF/0080" mean?

I think you will find that the "hexagon" dogtag is the original issue,
.. and the round dogtag Rene probably had made.

The lettering on the round dogtag seems to be an attempted "translation" to English.
He has had AP replaced with POL, and his PPOR rank replaced with "OF" (Officer).
Not sure about the 0080 though ..

    Thanks guys,
very nice tags! Let me know when you get bored with them one day.
These are very nice example of polish RAF and infantry officer tags. And this is actually an easier part when researching PSZ/RAF tags as they are relatively easy to track. The problem starts with the tags with "personal numbers" which I'm trying to research.
Maybe some of you who own some documents with both unit designation (on stamps etc.) and personal numbers could post them here and we could find out some system behind this.
I would suggest to start with some bigger unit like 1 Armoured Div or DSK as the documents of these units are relatively common and maybe we could find 2 people from the same coy and compare the numbers.
Thanks for your efforts and help.
    Regards
    Al
