    Hi to all

Such a badge existed in 2nd Commando Bn (Motorised) as unofiicial commemorative badge of Bn.
The badges were manufactured in 1946 by Jan Glowka (tropper from Bn) when 2nd Bn was transfered from Italy to GB.
Made of British copper or silver coins. Diameter approx. 3 cm.
Worn on battledress's pocket (sometimes with green cloth backing).

Copies of the badge were made in Poland in 90-ties from old British coins ...

    Greetings
    Rafal

Yes, Rafal is correct on all counts. Here’s the entry from the Sawicki reference, which can’t help but lend some legitmacy to this badge. I’d like to find out how many were actually made by this enterprising soldier.

Also pictured is one that I encountered a couple of years back. I understand that the copies are very well made, and would not rule out the one pictured below as being one of them.

It is a great badge indeed. I definitely have to get me a copy of Sawicki's book
Here are some more photos of mine, I tried to make it as clear as possible.
