    here is picture of forestry officer uniform. Collar tabs differ depending on which era they were worn. Your picture most likely shows 1950-1970 era.

    Have not seen this form before, as far as I can remember, but they are in no way German

    I Google'd around a bit and came up with these rank insignia charts for Polish forestry officials:

    The ones seen in the photograph would appear to be of this type:

    Thanks for everyone's replies, I think its confirmed as definitely forestry. I have attached an image of a higher rank designated as Dyrektor Genetraloy lasow Panstwowych = ‘General Director of State Forests’ as conformation of the collar style for the period which I assume is the 1950’s early 60’s.
