Hello everyone, this thread is amazing. I'm hoping that Andrzejku will be able to help me with these four crosses and put a name to the number if possible. I've got a follow-up story in a while, hopefully you'll find it interesting. Best regards to all.

    My Thanks to you Andrzejku,

Am I a lucky duck or what! Thank-you so much for the details you have found for me. I've more on two of these recipients now I know who they are...MCC 18166 to Stanislaw Maleta, he listed in Kronika 16 Lwowski Batalion Strezelkow (see 'Books') as a KW recipient and, more.... MCC 18402 to Jan Sobol, he is listed in the same volume as Chorazy with KZx2. So all in all a wonderful result. Sadly, I've nothing more to show for either of these valiant Soldiers than their Crosses. More to follow reference the MCC 43441 on how it comes to be with me.

    Best wishes to all

Monte Cassino crossMonte Cassino crossMonte Cassino crossHello everyone,
Going back to MCC 43441 to Kapral Zagajewski, 32 Field Hygiene Platoon, his cross came to me as I was trying to save a group on ebay. The group had been split up into a number of parts, sadly a not unusual scenario, which is possibly best not commented on.
Suffice to say I did battle and managed to secure everything apart from the document of issue for his Army Active Service Medal (outbid at the last minute!)....The group as you will see from the following is to Strz. Leon Kolacz 16 L.B.S., recipient of both KW and KZ.
His MCC 18045 wasn't with the group, being replaced with MCC 43441 for some unknown reason, even to the seller.
Anyway, here is another face behind the medals...one in his AB 64 and the other as a veteran in his final home, Buffalo NY in 2004.
    Best regards.

    Thank-you Red Devil,
I am very proud to have custody of these, albeit temporary as all things are. I'm just pleased to have kept most of the parts together, although as you can see from the photograph of him wearing his awards in 2004 I haven't got everything. I'm hoping that somewhere out there is his original Monte Cassino Cross Nr. 18045. As always, my best wishes to all.
