    Hello ProPatria,

Many thanks for your post, with regards to information on the recipient of the Monte Cassino Cross Numbered 47980, when awarded the recipients details where has follows:

    RanK: St. Strzelec (Lance Corporal)

Army Number: (also found on His ID tags): 1911-41-III

Unit: 12 Sad Polowy (12th Field Court, 2nd Polish Corps)

The only other information that I could glean was regarding a Bronislaw Laskowski who died in Wrexham, Maelor, Denbighshire, Wales in 1980.

    His details are has follows:

Date of Birth: 2 November 1911

Unfortunately ProPatria that is all that I could find for you I also checked the Index of Victims of Soviet Repression they listed only 1 Bronislaw Laskowski but not the right one.

I hope that the above information is of some use and help to you and if you did purchase the cross from Wales it could be the one listed above.

    Best wishes

    Andrzej

Amazing. Thanks so much. I am not sure which Bronislaw Laskowski the cross belonged to, possibly the one from Wales. Thank you very much.
