    Hi
I've been looking with interest on here for a while and so pleased that this thread it's still going strong!
I wonder if it would be possible to find out who the MC cross with number 15627 was awarded to?
    Many thanks and great work!

    Hello Drfez,

May I be the first to welcome you to the Forum, with regards to you post requesting information on the Recipient of the MCC Numbered 15627, when awarded the recipients details were as follows:

    Rank: St. Strzelec (Lance Corporal)

    Surname: FERENC

    Christian Name: STANISLAW

    Date of Birth: 1917

Army Number : (also found on His ID Tags) : 1917-35-III

Unit: 13BS (13th Rifle Battalion, 5th Kresowa Infantry Division, 2nd Polish Corps) .

The only other piece of information that I was able to glean from the internet was the death of a Stanislaw Ferenc in Glossop in Derbyshire on the 10th November 1957, Aged 40 (Death registered Glossop, Derbyshire Volume 10A, Page 961.). apart from the death there was Probate issued on the 16th January 1958.

Apologies for not being able to assist you further with your enquiry.

    Best wishes

    Andrzej

    Andrzej.
First of all, many thanks for such a quick and detailed reply! I've always been intrigued with this medal which was my grandfather's. Just in the process of trawling through the forums trying to identify a few other of his medals and beret eagle.
Thank you again and thanks for the welcome to the forum.

Andrzej, A massive thank you for the photos. After few years, I can see Polish soldier wearing British Olive Drab Smock, In my humble opinion (second soldiers from the right, photo no.2) I have seen many pictures of Polish soldiers during Italy Campaign wearing British snow smock, and just one photo of olive drab smock before. I apologise, I am aware this is MC Cross thread, but as my main interest is uniforms of Polish Armed Forces in the West, This is related to my interest find. Again, Many thanks!!

    Kind Regards
    Alex
