Andrzej, thanks for devoting the time to find and post these photos for us . The third photo down of St. Strzelec Jozef Cichy shows some interesting deviations from the norm with decoration placement and the collar point insignia.
Regards,
Tony

Hi Andrzej,

Edward Bogdan,
Gunczerenko Grzegorz,
Tawkin Nikodem,
Eremeew Simon
Thank you.
Br,
Artem
Hello Artem,
Many thanks for your post, I was only able to find one of the four listed and then under a different spelling, here is what I found when awarded the MCC his details were as follows :
Rank: Strzelec (Rifleman)
Surname: TAWKIM (M instead of N)
Christian name: NIKODEM
Date of Birth: 1918
Army Number : (also found on His ID Tags) : 1918-49-III
Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 18408
Unit: 16BS (16th Rifle Battalion, 5KDP)
I have also checked the index of soviet repression and have gone through the book listing Polish soldiers killed during the Italian Campaign with no luck.
I hope that the above information helps you.
Best wishes
Andrzej
