    Hello Dawid,

Many thanks for your post re Bolesław Michalak, I can add the following information plus I was also able to find a small photograph from the internet.

Bolesław Michalak was born on the 23rd June 1911, his parents were Wawrzyniec (Born in 1876) and Pelagia Jaszcz (Born in 1876) he was one of a Family of 8 Children.

In the September 1939 Campaign, he crossed the Lithuanian border on the 19th September at Kalwaria, he was sent to Kozielsk on the 15th July 1940 and after release joined the Anders Army at Tatiszczewo on the 4th September 1941.

He served in the 15th Transport Company, 5KDP, Army Number: 1911-150-III, after the end of the war he came with his unit to the UK, in 1964 he applied for and was granted British Citizenship whilst working as a Senior Goods Checker for British Railways, at the time he was living at 4 Hatton Road, Cheshunt, Hertfordshire granted on the 2nd September 1964 and placed in the London Gazette on the 20th October 1964, Gazette Issue Number: 43468, Page: 8946.

Bolesław died on the 28th April 1981 and was buried on the 6th May 1981 in Enfield, I have attached the pre war photograph of him below:

    Hello David for YOU,
Especially for You. You are from pre 1939 and in addition small foto. I will write what I see. Michalak served in the state polish police/Policja Państwowa.Rank:starszy posterunkowy.
He was awarded at least two medals:Za wojnę 1918-21:Polska swemu obrońcy & medal plowman from Marshal Piłsudski/X-cio lecia odzyskania niepodłegłości. See the documentary certificate Białowieszesnka May 23, 1942.

    Hello Artur,

With regards to Bolesław Michalak, he was born in 1911 and would have been 9 in 1920 and 17 in 1928, the medals would more than likely have been the BKZ and the 10 Year Long Service Medal to my thinking. Only obtaining a copy of his service record would confirm this ?

    Best wishes

    Hello DEAR Andrzejku
You are right. When I wrote about these decorations, I did not look at Michalak's date of birth. In connection with the above, I gave standard medals. Thank You for the correction. According to me, the picture has got a ,,baretki" of medals.

Standard medals in fotos Policja Państwowa.
