Hey.
I am looking for information about the bombardie Henryk Jakubowski. He was born on April 20, 1925 in Łomża as the eldest son of Zygmunt and Janina Jakubowska. In the army of Anders he fought in the 5th Light Artillery Regiment. He died on March 19, 1946 and was exhumed.
The distinctions he received:
- a badge of wounds and injuries (with one star)
- Cross of valors
- Monte Cassino cross
Registration number: 27 supplementary command III
He was buried in Bologna. Location of the grave: 7-Z-5
My English is on a medium level, so excuse me if I make a mistake.
Jacek Jakubowski
Welcome to the forum Prusak. Your English is good, no problems. Let's hope someone posts more information on this soldier.
Regards,
Tony

Hello Jacek,
May I also welcome you to the Forum, what Information I have on Henryk concerns the award of the Monte Cassino Cross, when awarded his details were as follows;
Rank : Kanonier

Christian Name : Henryk
Date of Birth : 1925

I have also found a photograph of his grave at Bologna Polish War Cemetery shown below :
Henryk would have also been awarded the Polish Army Medal (Medal Wojska) and the British 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, 1939-1945 Defence Medal.
Best wishes and once again welcome to the Forum Jacek.

Thank you very much for answer, Andrzej. I'll be grateful for any possible informations
I have also another question: it's possible to establish badge numbers?
Hello Jacek,
Unfortunately not with out the Legitymacja, no major list of Badge Numbers was kept for the 2nd Corps Badge over 110,000 awarded, if there is a Regimental History (Chronicle) held at the PISM in London it might and I say just might have some details in as regards say the award of the Medal Wojska for which the PISM has the register with the Number of the Legitymacja listed and the date awarded. Do you have a copy of Henryk service record from the British Ministry of Defence.
Best wishes
Andrzej
