    Hello Anthony,

Your Fathers Service Number was obtained from his entry in the register of recipients of the Monte Cassino Cross is as follows:

    Rank : Pancerny

    Surname : Burak

    Christian Name : Edward

Army Number : 1921-109-III (also found on His ID Tags)

Monte Cassino Cross Number : 30436

    Unit : P6Pancerny (6th Armoured Regiment)

Anthony the first page of the letter from the M-o-D should have his Army Number on also if you still have your Fathers AB64 Paybook, his Army Number and His Polish Resettlement Corps Number is usually written in Red pen on the 3rd Page.

When you wrote to the M-o-D for your Fathers service record did you ask for copies of all the records they held ?

    Best wishes

    Andrzej
