Today was an adventure. I had to find two soldiers of 13 BS.
We managed to find the widow of pte.Bolesław Zalewski.
A widow, 92 years old, still lives in Bialystok Mrs.Benedykta ZALEWSKA.
I'll show you a little, the priority is:

Many thanks for the post showing Kapitan Franciszek Józef Dobija items, his details are as follows:

Army Number : (also found on His ID Tags) : 1899-85-III

Unit : KG2BP (Headquarters Staff 2nd Armoured Brigade)

Monte Cassino Cross Nr : 28757

Pre war he was promoted to Porucznik (Lieutenant) on the 1st June 1920 and was 4th in seniority as a Porucnik adm. Int. in 1932 he was still a Porucznik stationed with the 9th Corps.

After the end of the war he came to the UK with his unit and settled in London where in 1952 he was granted British Citizenship, London gazette Dated 15th July 1952, Issue Nr : 39597, Page : 3817. Entry as follows:

Dobija Franciszek Józef, Poland, Clerk, 48 Chepstow Road, London, W.2. Dated 9th June 1952.

From 1955 to 1965 he lived in a Flat at 72 Woodland Rise, Muswell Hill in London.

At some point between 1965 and 1987 he moved to Bournemouth, Dorset, because on the 28th January 1987 he died in Ground Floor Flat, Ilford, Waterloo Road, Winton, Bournemouth, Dorset.

With regards to Ulan Antoni Poprawski 1914-127-III, 12PULP, 7PULLub. unfortunately I could not find any further information on him, Artur did he return to Poland after the end of the war. Because I have checked everywhere to try and find him with no luck.

The only post war information that I could find on Franciszek Tunkiewicz was probate with incorrect spelling of his Christian Name, died on the 3rd May 1984 in Exminster, Devon.
