Thanks Ade.
I think the fellow in the black beret might possibly be "Koszalinski"?? (spelling may be wrong)
Why the heck didn't I do this all a few years ago!!!!!
thats not my dad Ian, they met up whilst being demobbed but maybe wrong, your dad was my dads best man and you parents are my sisters god parents
small fact about the cap badge only officers had metal cap badgers but when our dads joined up they had run out of cloth ones.MY dad was in the 2nd armoured corp and wore the monte casino badge although that battle was before he enlisted, here's me dad he was underage when he enlisted it was either enlist and eat or become a refugee.
Hi Ian!
Small world isn't it! I thought your dad was armour, hence with the black beret I thought it may have been him. I'm sure I've seen the other chap in post-war photo's in England too. Probably a lot of them settled together in the same area (Sheffield in dads case)
Interesting point on the cap badge - the shoulder patch I've got is apparently also officer-grade, so I think they were keen on dressing up their uniforms Scary how young they were though.
