Polish Airborne Collar Kite Query
Hi guys,
Can any one give me a clue on the different colour combinations for the 1st Polish Parachute Brigade's collar kites?
i.e. grey with yellow top for rifle platoon,
is it maroon on a greeny-grey for medics?
And i'm after a little clarification?
Am I right in saying that the first kites had the parachutes (in white) and the top edge stitched onto one piece of material? i.e. yellow on grey for the rifles platoons,
and then from about 1943 it went to the metal paratroopers pinned onto the first colour which was backed by a 2nd piece of material?
Thanks Guys
Mark P.

Thanks again,
Will bin the reproduction pair I have then
I do WW2 living history as well, Gary we met at Spanhoe, if you remember?
Ironically I was doing polish at the time.
As a random side bit of info i'm trying to look into more is blanco'ing of webbing by the Poles. Lots of pics without before the jump, but hoping to talk to some vets just to makle sure which one is correct.
Any idea? As i've heard you're the man in the know on alot of things Gary.
Ta for the help

Yes Mark .. I remember you ..
Blancoing ..
Well from period snaps it is not clear, as the blancoing wouldn't show up too well on black and white ..
I'd stick to clean unblancoed .. then you can't go far wrong.
Cheers
