Polish Exile helmet Eagles

Article about: Tony, Thanks for posting that photo, ... I have seen it before when I believe Rafal N. owned one similar. This again is yet another confirmed variant connected to the Parachute Brigade. This

    Default SBSP Mk II

I have already posted this badged Mk II in another thread, but I have realized I should have posted here (please admins, if you deem to be necessary remove my other post). This is a not so recent purchase: a sand (over)painted British made (no markings) Mk II helmet embellished with the white eagle over red shield "Tobruk" SBSP Carpatian Rifles Brigade insignia. Mk II chin strap. No markings on the liner. No provenience. All together too good to be true? That's also my guess... What's your opinion, gents?

    Hello Loupie1961,

I hope that you do not mind me correcting your post, The Independent Carpathian Rifle Brigade in Polish is Samodzielna Brygada Strzelców Karpackich (SBSK not SBSP).

No doubt one of the Helmet Experts will post and answer for you.

    Best wishes

    Andrzej

Not only I don't mind, but i do thank do much for having put it straight! For some reason, I was temporarily convinced that the Rifles, i.e. Strzelcy, were Podkarpackie (thence the P)!

Sorry I forgot all about that request; but better late than never.
Did you check if the helmet is converted AT MK 1 to AT MK 2? I have the helmet with identical eagle, but mine is converted. When I remove liner there is still visible from inside welded (?) two holes and the third one is crudely drilled.
    Regards,
    Matt

Ivan's disappeared - again. I saw some of his PSZ helmet collection being sold off four or five years ago. Rumours that circulated in the collector community was that all of it was sold.
