I dont know where the information comes of the Monte Cassino crosses being made in Tel Aviv. I ampretty sure the crosses were actually made in Italy. Which would obviously make a lot of sense since transporting 50,000 crosses from the Middle East would be complicated, when there were makers of medals in Italy. Not only that, the medal makers in Italy were better than the ones of the Middle East. And I am not sure, but perhaps the Italian mint made the medals. Perhaps someone knows or can confirm this.

I would imagine the source for this information is once again our beloved Professor Wesolowski. He is the only one making this claim. I have a booklet about Monte Cassino crosses written by Marek Wronski and it looks like not even he could find solid proof where the crosses were manufactured. Another unsubstantiated claim made by the Professor is that Rubin in Tel Aviv made a version of the Virtuti Militari. This has yet to be proven by real documents....

No I don't unfortunately. That is lost to time. I know the units because I referenced the serial numbers, but that's it.

    Hi Mike,

It seem's that its your lucky day, I have found the following information for you on the recipients of the Monte Cassino Cross:

Nr:2709 was awarded to: Wachmistrz Kazimierz Brzezinski, Born: 1910, Army Nr: 2/III , Unit: 3.K.Sz.Z. (3rd Carpathian Military Police) ended the war as a St.Wachm.

Ancestry.com lists a Kazimierz Brzezinski as having died in 1976 in Richmond, New York.

Nr:11364 was awarded to Kapral Franciszek Soban, Born: 1919, Army Nr:203/III, Unit: 12th Podolski Lancers Regiment, he finished the war as a Plutowny in the 7th Lubelski Lancers with the KW (Cross of Valour).

Nr:35750 was awarded to Kanonier Augustyn Baranowski, Born: 1920, Army Nr:198/III, Unit: 7 Pulk Artylerii Plot.Lekkiej.

I hope that you will be happy with the above information, I told you that it was your lucky day.

    Best wishes

    Andrzejku

I am speechless. I don't know what to say! I thought I read that the numbers weren't traceable! You are my hero

Out of curiosity, is this listing of numbers online or is it something you personally possess?

I owe you a beer. Heck, I owe you a case of beer!
