Hello!
Yes, this type of eagle we can see on many 1SBS documents.
Best Regards
Why was this type of eagle used and not the breast badge eagle?
I collect, therefore I am.
Nothing in science can explain how consciousness arose from matter.
Not really sure on this one ...
Possibly it was down to "artistic license" .. or IF the drawing was initially done to make a sweetheart badge (as previously discussed), then the badge would have to differ from "official" contemporary issue maybe.

Just a thought? Is the 'sweetheart' style the eagle on the paratroopers colours?

Putting all the images together don't you think that the eagles on the colours look more like the "sweetheart" type than the official breast badge eagle designed by Marian Walentynowicz?
I appreciate the flag is a very poor quality scan but they do not look like Walentynowicz's designed eagles to me more a hybrid eagle maybe??

Well, as you know, the colours were embroidered in Warsaw, and I suppose that the images available were limited.
But looking at the spread of the two wings, and considering the colours were embroidered in 1942, I would hazard to say the influence for the eagles came from the Walentynowicz design. (Being adopted in 1941 as the official "Eagle").
Also, I'm not sure when the "sweetheart" eagle first appeared as an unofficial letterhead, ... possibly 43 or 44 ...

Looking at this from the other end of the telescope.
Maybe the 'sweetheart' eagle was a graphic designer's interpretation of the eagle embroidered on the colour flag this would fit the dating you mentioned?
