In terms of involvement of Italians in producing respos

Very interesting question – I have done a short “private investigation”

    1. Loriol was closed down a in the late 90ts and there is nothing remaining after the company and / or its old products (they had an internal exhibition). However, it is 100% confirmed that various Ex-Combatants societies had ordered a number of re-strikes in early 80ts (3DSK, 5KDP, Enginee0rs of KDP, assault badge and Eagle (fortunately for collectors the re-strike in silver in colour so it easy to spot, Bolonski Battalion and 2 Warsaw Armoured Division and possibly others
    2. Allegedly, in the past, there had been 2 collectors who ordered re-strikes with P&B. Again, in the 80ts Sliwerski – form UK and a second person (do not remember surname on the spot) – hes was from Chicago. Interesting he also is that he come up with badge of Artillery Measurement Company of 2 Core and started selling it a as a very rare and unique badges.
    3. There is a rumour in Poland that re-strikes had been also ordered in P&B recently – but I can not confirm this at the moment
    4. Again not specifically confirmed - I have been told that recently an organised and very professional scheme was executed in Poland where by a incredibly good copies of SBS - Para Badge had been offered in number of bigger cities in Poland to “newly-reach” Poles who become collectors as an excellent investment.

Has anybody got any other information on counterfeiters?

    Hello Wadowicznic

    Thanks for interesting information.

Where did you receive information about faked para badges?

I am collecting Polish para insignia and related items and try to "monitor" a collectors market (Flea markets, auctions, etc) but had no information about fakes of WW II para wings being sold.

There are many of fakes but of poor quality - like met on popular internet auctions.

    Greetings
    Rafal

I was in Poland just before Smolensk Tragedy and, as usually, did meet with my friends collectors. One of them, who often goes to market in Bytom (Silesia), informed me about what he learned from others while there. Again, i stress – it was alleged – I have not seen any of those “perfect copies”, so it may just be market rumour.

    Friends

I would like to propose that we open up the debate on the Polish Air Force Squadron Badges.
Objective to learn as much as we can on the subject
    - Variations
    - Numbers produced
    - Makers
    - IDS
    - Copies
    - Build an on-line data base of pictures

In the past there has been interesting posts on 303 badge(s) so we have done a good start!

Unfortunately, i do not have any meaningful examples despite trying hard over the last few years.
Sadly, i accept that i will not be successful in this field, but at least i would like top learn what is what.

I am opening with a few pictures

Wadowicznic, thanks for posting this 64th Battalion of the 16th Pomeranian Infantry Brigade of the 2nd Warsaw Armoured Division beret badge. That's a mouthful.

Yes, definitely a steep price paid. But not a badge seen every day, or year for that matter.

Never was quite comfortable with the design depicting an arm growing out of the eagle’s neck though.

Pictured below is an officer of this battalion.

    Regards,
    Tony

Nice example of memory re-call and commemorating the M Casino Anniversary.

We have discussed the Badge of 22 Supply before on he forum but i thought it would be good to bring it back up.
