Agreed on the metal syrenka shield. Another of the many interesting variants produced by the resourceful Poles of the 2nd Corps. Certainly a diverse mix of items in this grouping. Thanks for posting these Americanheadcharge Any more information you can share about your grandfather?

Mike, that small badge is the miniature version of the pre-war Reserve Officer Artillery School badge.

    Thanks,

This is the metal mermaid in close up. My grandfather served in Polish army during the September campaign, trained as para trooper in the 1st Independent para division, but broke a leg and instead became an AA gun commander during the Italy campaign. He reached the rank of Captain in 1944. The full story will be post soon on this forum.

Some of You may remember our quality debates that we had few months ago trying to figure out the authenticity of the Badge of the 2 Korpus - Panzer / Motorizes Cavalierly NCO School

I have just spotted an very interesting artefact that may help to asses the number of the Badges produced by P&B

Assuming that this Certificate / Diploma is authentic – the 1st Promotion of had 116 Graduates

Just to keep up with the market (that has been very slow recently) –
WWII Polish Air Force Flight Meteorologist Wing (non Combat) – recently sold on Ebay.

I think that, person who bought it has secured the good deal – this to me is the early Guant.
It is worth noticing that, according to PAF archives, only 5 Combat Meteorologist Wings had been awarded.

Shall I propose the task for all of us – to assemble a solid gallery of pictures featuring various PAF Specialist’s Badges.

Some have been already posted here – but I do not think we have exhausted the topic

Actually – a question – had those badges were issues with Ids (I have not seen many of them over years) – this could be a good research topic too?

A sticky thread for purely Polish Air force badges has been placed on the forum.
If members would like to re-post examples with descriptions in that thread, then we can build up a PAF section.

A new copy of the Officers Legion (Legia Oficerska) badge has hit the market. On its own this copy can appear rather deceptive, with its "patina of nearly 70 years" in the words of the seller. Although stacked up against a genuine example (on the right) it's no contest. This fake has just sold on ebay for $130.

together with my wife , went out yesterday endeavouring to purchase a new television. a couple of charity shops were in the vicinity. kicking heels whilst the little lady was perusing women's stuff, clocked this amongst the objets d'art ! in a display case. Polish eagle, Polish colours but what ? is it a relatively modern commemorative item ? lapel badge ? over to the men who know. (didn't get a telly by the way )

It looks like a Polish Air Force sweetheart brooch, and my guess would be WW2 era. Nice find!
