Indian Pattern Khaki Drill Service Dress Tunic; the cut of the KD SD tunic was similar to that of the 1902 pattern serge service dress but without the lower pockets, without the reinforced 'rifle patches' at the shoulder, and with a pointed false cuff added. The five buttons fastening the front were of an intermediate size as used on the pocket flaps of the serge SD. The jacket featured a stand and fall collar, belt hooks and buttons mounted on split rings or pins. Worn in Carpathian Brigade in 1940/1941

Would you or other members know if it was typical practice of the French in Syria to issue ‘former British’, Indian Pattern uniforms to Poles? Or can it be assumed that this image represents an early British issue of Indian Pattern uniforms to the Samodzielna Brygada Strzelców Karpackich (SBSK) that crossed over to British controlled Palestine on June 30, 1940 before standard British uniforms of the period were available for issue in the Middle East?
