    Not strictly a military item but came back with a soldier of 2PolCorps; a pin back brooch by a Milan maker depicting "ricordo madonna del pianto di fermo" or "Our Lady of Tears of Fermo" sometimes known as "Mary of Sorrows".

    Some religious amulets to add to Stefan’s thread.

    First up is the most common type in the form of a small medallion with the image of the Virgin Mary. This one belonged to private Józef Szczepański of the 66 Pomorski Infantry Battalion, Polish 2nd Corps. 22 x 13mm

    This medallion belonged to Lt. Ludwik Witkowski of the Polish Military Mission to North America (1941-43) picturing the patron saint of travelers Saint Christopher, with English language text. 25 x 15mm

    Here is an interesting one that belonged to Lance Sgt. Aniela Hasiuk of the 318th Field Canteen and Mobile Library Company (318 Kompania Kantyn Polowych i Bibliotek Ruchomych). It is a statuette of the Virgin Mary housed in a small hinged metal holder measuring 35 x 15mm.
