    Default Richard watch

    Hi,

I have recently received a family souvenir - a Richard watch given to my grand father's brother at the service of the Polish Armed Forces in the West.

I intend to have it repaired but I would like to find out more about the brand. Yet the google search has brought no satisfactory result so far.

Can anyone provide me with some information on Richard watches?

    Thanks

    Aleksander

Perhaps there is a watch collectors forum on the net?

As they say - 'A picture is worth a thousand words..........!'

I have an extensive watch catalogue of mainly American, Swiss and British
makers, but there is no 'Richard' in it. A look on the net discribes 40
last-names of 'Richard' as watchmakers in Switzerland, which could
all be 'high-end' makers from around the turn of the last century
but it is impossible to say without good, clear photos of the
    case and movement.
    Regards,

    Steve.

Do you mean a watch with this kind of 'Richard' trademark?:

    Richard watch

If so, they were from a Swiss maker and seem to be mostly 1950s-70s manufacture. The only info I have been able to find suggests it is the old company of Daniel Jean Richard and/or Jean Richard, who seem to have gone bust in the 1970s/80s.
