    Hi @all!

Friends dug out a piece of aluminum at a ww2 crash site. Witnesses say it was an us-aircraft with one pilot. There is a partnumber on the object: 106 301 8-5 (maybe 3-5) and a seal of approval: ANA B38.

They also found a lot of .50 Cal shells.

Does anybody know which type of aircraft it was?

    Thanks for help!

    Hello Tiger......

The ANA stamp is exclusive to North American Aviation, and the code starting '106' is for the P-51 Mustang, although I can't say what version.

    Regards, Ned.
