b-17 crash site

hi guys,

I am new to the forum and aswell as to metal detecting.

I recently visited a b-17 crash site for my 1st ever time metal detecting and I found a few interesting bits and a few bullets (.50cals)

But I found 3 identical square metal plates but I cant identify what they are.

I was looking for help from the community, any suggestions on to what they could be, will be really appreicated.

Hello Ben, if they are about an inch and a half square they are plates from a flack jacket. Strictly speaking you need a licence from the Ministry of Defence to recover anything from this site, as well as the landowner's permission.
