The epitome of a 'captured' plane!
It looks like he is determined to keep it and bring it back!

Here a better pic and illustration of the difference between the 'hump backed' Farnborough two seater/trainer Do 335A-12 240112 (latter pic) and the Do 335A-0 204102 later donated to the National Air and Space Museum.

Outstanding thread love it all especially the comet and ME-262s being transported.
Here's a really good link to some of the 262's that came back on the 'Reaper' (along with other jet and prop types) that helped form up America's first ever jet fighter squadron. The guy in charge was a Tech officer named Col. Hal Watson. I first read about him years ago in an article in 'Flypast' I think, and there must be a lot more concerning 'Watson's Whizzers' as they were collectively known at the time, out on the web.

A good site by the look of it.
'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.
We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.

In memory of Capt. Robert Falcon Scott, Edward Wilson, Henry Bowers, Lawrence Oates and Edgar Evans. South Pole Expedition, 30th March 1912.
Here is an excellent site on aircraft color profile.
WINGS PALETTE
Including foreign use and captured aircraft.
For example:
Ta-152 (British)
The previously post F4U Corsair' s scheme and markings doesn't make much sense.
ヨD is for IJN Yokosuka Air Base.
The green camouflage scheme is army painted.

Scout-PZL P-7 Model
big ned-I would believe that the first USAAC fighter sqdn was the 445th using the first US fighter jet (and jet aircraft type) the Bell P59B Aircomet-while not an 'operational' outfit, it used the armed version to familiarize pilots with the handling characteristics of jets.
Another B17 in Japanese hands
