ohhhhhhhh I never knew that!!! thanks for the info..Terry.
Hi Adam,
The aircraft suffered a heavy landing but all the crew escaped before it capsized and sank back in 1942. Here is a linky to a really good video of the wreck during and after it's recovery with some excellent interior shots. The preservation is amazing with the rescue raft and first aid locker still intact. The biggest suprise for me is the Revi reflector gunsight that was in the cockpit. These things were fitted in fighters like the 109 and 190, the thought of the pilot using this huge aircraft for strafing with this sight and the underwing cannons is awe inspiring! Enjoy the film!

We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.

I visited the Sola Airshow today and was lucky enough to talk to the legend Eric Brown.
He is one of the few people living that have been flying the he115
He described it as a big seagull. slow with big wings.
Me and Eric.
He Also were verry impressed of the state that our plane is in after 70 years in the sea.

What a fantastic recovery, the aeroplane looks to be in amazing condition for that length of time under the sea. It must be a real thrill to be a part of it's recovery, you must have enjoyed every minute of it. Great pics and great story, well done.
Great reading and great to see such an aircraft raised and to be put display. Thanks for posting
