I have read many conflicting combat reports and opinions on the MiG-15bis and the F86 Sabre, which one do you think was the better aircraft?

It's a bit like the Spitfire/Messerschmitt argument I reckon. IMO it was down to the geezer flying the aircraft.

The MiG appears to be a poor copy of the Sabre ( perhaps it's the other
way round ) but for me it is the F86 all the way - even if the MiG
was slightly faster - although I think Ned is right about being
down to the skill of the jockey.........

I had read that website too,I think they were fairly evenly matched, the better pilot was probably the winner,as Ned stated.

Sabre first flight October 10th 1947, mig 15 first flight December 30th 1947, very little in it really amazing how similar these planes are. Big Ned that's a good photo, has anybody seen later migs "in the flesh"? they are really badly finished and look as if they have been thrown together, but the early stuff !5s, 17s, 19s etc look th be really well mate!..
