    Indeed,
to each his own, like i said, a great plane in many respects, simply not my cup of tea.

That reminds me, there is a very good war bird museum about an hours drive from where i live that has a mustang that you can have a joy flight on. Rather expensive but it woud definately be an experiance to remember.

    Cheers-

    Darren

There have been over 500 views of this picture and nobody has disputed my claim, so I guess I win by default.

I'm with you Zwerge ! The P-51 was the best !
But it has to be the 'D' model !

    Here is another famous picture.....................

Interesting looking plane the Sea Fury.

Royal navy fighter bomber and was quite fast indeed.

Strange having the cockpit so far back, i imagine that would have made taking off and landing a bit perilous.

I beleive the sea fury is still used today for air racing.

Hey guys. I'm a bit surprised that one of my personal favorites has yet to be even mentioned. I am talking about the Lockheed P-38 Lightning. I think it is a beautiful plane. I remember a couple of years ago when they found one on the beach in Wales, here's a link Lockheed P-38 Lightning found on UK beach at Flightstory.net - Aviation Blog

Yeah, it dose look quite allot like the sea fury. Strange having the cockpit set so far back on the plane.

Another of my favs is the Japanese Army Air Force's Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa -
