Any Idea what this is???????
Hi guys
I have been given this hat. Would you please have a look for me and see if it is WW2 German?????????? the badges have been glued on years ago by someone, however i would be interested in finding out what the hat was and used for originaly.

You have a SS eagle and a Luftwaffe wreath glued on to what appears to be a post war hat. A better picture of the inside of the cap might assist with identifying the cap.

Its a real mess that hat, i wonder was the person trying to create the new unit of luftwaffen :s

Top is vinyl. Vinyl was never used during the TR.

Vinyl top sounds like a navy cap of some sort. Is it ribbed or flat?

It is probably a BRD Verkehrspolizei visor (traffic police).

I agree, its certainly very similar to Police caps, have been stopped by them in the past, plus we had a number of them at our Police divisional HQ after visits or exchanges
