Hi Migobeego,
this cap seems to wander around - see here (compare the damage to the visor/peak):

seems to be the very same cap which entered the questionable-visor-hats section in January 2017.
The nametag has gone, as has the RZM-tag - for obvious reasons. A pity F.-B. is no longer around!

Here was the original description when sold by emedals:
This cap is in black doeskin wool with a traditional high peak, with matching white piping along the top edge and flanking either side of the band on the sidewall, the latter in black velvet. It is decorated with a well-detailed silvered bronze eagle insignia on the peak, the eagle with a dark patina, plus a second pattern silvered tombac SS skull on the band below on the front. The silver bullion chin cords are appropriately knotted at either end, designating the wearer to be an officer, and are attached to pebbled silvered buttons on either side. The vulcan visor has a smooth black leather-look upper and has a brown synthetic underside, the latter stamped in black ink with the SS Runes surrounded by the letters "R Z M" (Reichszeugmeisterei) on the right side. The tan-coloured leather sweatband is perforated along the front edge with five tiny rows of forty ventilation holes each, the ends of the sweatband are not sewn together, however, traces of the original black threading remains. The inside of the cap is lined in champagne-coloured rayon, with the dome brandishing a celluloid moisture shield, bearing a trapezoid-shaped paper name tag inscribed in black ink "Jacobsen Rudolf / SS-Nr. 79 517 / Dachau". There is a manufacturer's label glued to the underside at the right rear, the label printed in black ink with a large RZM (Reichszeugmeisterei) on the left side and the SS Runes on the right side, marked "TUCHMÜTZE SS." (SS Cloth Cap), "Hersteller" (Manufacturer) and stamped "4", above "Reichszeugmeisterei der NSDAP." and numbered "Nr. 383446", the cap measuring 225 mm x 247 mm x 150 mm in height overall. The cap exhibits scattered silvering wear on both the eagle and the SS skull, traces of fraying in the silver bullion chin cords, with wear present on the vulcan visor under the chin cords and along the edge, along with light soiling on the tan sweatband. Better than extremely fine.
Footnote: SS Oberführer Dr. Rudolf Jacobsen was a German officer in the Waffen SS during the Second World War. He was born on May 1, 1898 in Hamburg and served as a infantry officer during the First World War. He taught agriculture at a high school in Rastenburg in the 1930s, receiving his doctorate in agriculture in 1934, becoming a member of the NSDAP, number 1409802 and became a member of the SS, number 79 517, on July 18, 1933. From August 1, 1933 to April 26, 1934 he was a Geldverwaltungsleiter (Money Manager) with SS-Abteilung VII, along with being Racial Peer und Schulungsleiter (Racial Peer and Training Leader) of that same SS-Abteilung VII and was promoted to SS-Untersturmführer on April 26th. Later in 1934, he was promoted to Obersturmführer on November 9th, followed by subsequent promotions to SS-Hauptsturmführer on September 15, 1935, to SS-Sturmbannführer on September 13, 1936 and to SS Obersturmbannführer on September 12, 1937. As well as seeing many promotions, Jacobsen also held several positions simultaneously during his career. From June 15, 1938 to June 1, 1942, he founded and nurtured the Erbindungsführer für den Gauheimstättenämter im bereich des SS-Oberabschnitt "Nordost" (District Home Office for the SS North East section). He began service in the Wehrmacht on August 19, 1939, was promoted to SS-Standartenführer on September 10, 1939 and became member off the Waffen-SS Reserve as SS-Obersturmbannführer d.R. on March 1, 1940. He was Commander of the SS-Totenkopfdivision at Dachau concentration camp for four and a half months, from October 16, 1939 to March 1, 1940. The prisoners of Dachau originally were to serve as forced labour for a munition factory, and to expand the camp. It was also used as a training center for SS guards and was a model for other concentration camps. During that time he was also a member off the SS-RuSHA (Rasse- und Siedlungshauptamt der SS = SS Race and Settlement Main Office), the organization responsible for "safeguarding the racial "purity" of the SS" within Nazi Germany. Jacobsen commanded the SS-Totenkopf-Unterführerschule (SS Training School) at Lublinitz (now Lubliniec) effective March 1, 1940, before leaving the school three months later on June 4th, to assume the role of Commander of I. SS-Standarte “Nordland” on June 12th. While he was commander of the school, he was asked to go to Rostock in the German state of Mecklenburg for a clandestine meeting, on March 16-17, 1940, weeks before the German occupation of Denmark. The meeting also included Reichsführer of the SS, Heinrich Himmler, Danish Foreign Minister, Peter Rochegune Munch, along with several Nazi dignitaries. The occupation of Denmark had been arranged between Berlin and Copenhagen. Himmler was told that Germany had to take part in the planned occupation of Norway against the Allies and needed to occupy Denmark. Munch had been warned in advance about the German intentions towards Denmark, and had agreed to making the occupation happen as peacefully as possible. A later declaration of oath by Jacobsen confirmed the meeting with Munch and its purpose, stating: "In Rostock I learned personally: Firstly, that the Danish Foreign Minister, Munch was there and secondly, that Denmark would be negotiated smoothly." In an additional written statement by the former German Deputy in the Danish Reichstag, Pastor D. Johannes Schmidt-Wodder, the pastor stated: "It is true that I happened to witness that Dr. Munch and Dr. Jacobsen were present in Rostock on March 17, 1940". It was agreed that, if the Danes made no real resistance and contented themselves with a seemingly nefarious defence, Germany would leave the (Social Democratic-Liberal coalition) government in office and give Denmark a special position. This would account for the limited Danish response on April 9, 1940, and Munch's own willingness to surrender once the invasion was under way. The SS Training School the Jacobsen left was later dissolved, with its buildings subsequently used by the National-Political Institution of Teaching (Nationalpolitische Lehranstalt = Napola), which were secondary boarding schools, founded as "community education sites" after the National Socialist seizure of power in 1933 and established to train the elite of Hitler’s “Thousand-Year Reich.” A Napola secondary school education was the prototypical grooming for the Nazi political hierarchy. Upon leaving the SS Training School, Jacobsen was named the first Commander of the SS-Standarte "Nordland" on June 4, 1940, a position he would hold for three months, until September 1st, however, he never led any troops in battle. He was Führer Hauptabteilung 3 of Amt VI in SS-Hauptamt from September 1, 1940 to June 1, 1942, the Racial Peer of SS-Oberabschnitt Northeast from June 1, 1942, as well as being Chief of Amt VI in SS-Hauptamt from June 1, 1942 to August 30, 1943, then Chief of Amt III of Amtsgruppe D in SS-Hauptamt from August 30, 1943 until the cessation of hostilities in May 1945. During this last appointment, Jacobsen was promoted to SS Oberführer der Reserve in the Waffen-SS on April 20, 1944 and was Commander of Ausbildungslager Sennheim (the SS Training Camp at Sennheim, now Cernay in the commune of the Haut-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France) from January 1, 1944 to December 1944. This camp was where most Scandinavian volunteers in the Waffen-SS received their initial training, in German political ideology and basic drill before they were sent on to other training sites for weapons and combat training. His awards included: the Iron Cross 2nd Class 1914, the Hindenburg Cross, the War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords, the War Merit Cross 1st Class with Swords, the SS Honour Ring (Totenkopfring) and the SS Honour Sword.

That's quite a description... Funny how in order to try to sell it the name and RZM tag had to be removed. For some reason the eagle is different as well. Do you guys know if it was sold at emedals back then?

Not on topic, but did FB just decide to take a break from the forum? I know that he would talk about it being taxing every now and then with the constant - is this fake, is this fake SS stuff.

Just goes to show that the fakers read our posts (even the closed threads).
He knew it would be easily outed by the bogus RZM tag and "Jacobsen" connection, so he pulled the tags and is now dumping it on Baldes' site.
