I know this is the worst photo in the world, but from what I've seen these stand a chance.

Can we use this as an opportunity to learn how to spot fakes, like with a list of things to check?

Not liking what I see and would say 'No' - Do you have

just from the poor photo angles already shown I am extremely doubtful that the insignia is good. Maybe its the angles, but the eagle just doesn't look right.

Angled photography of collectibles is extremely hard
to make any judgements on - and usually a sign
of problems.

Are you expecting this to be genuine insignia
on a modern cap.........?

Well, since it's too risky how do you tell fake totenkopfs and eagles?

insignia. There are many 'good' examples:

I am not trying to be rude honestly, but how do you seriously expect anyone to authenticate a cap and insignia with these pics?

This is a perfect example of collectors bring their own worst enemy.
