He does not expressly list it is a reproduction.

Read the subtitle again:

"G.Lütjens Admiral von der Bismarck / Original"

This is clearly an attempt to deceive the unwary, and he has done it before:

Unfortunately, the fakers will keep making them as long as the ignorant (won't learn) and the stupid (cannot learn) keep buying them--which they do.

I agree entirely with your above statement. The main trouble is IMO that most of these people that buy these caps do so knowing they are not original but because these so called novice collectors think that they look good, (Ha Ha) they can show them to friends who haven't a clue and claim they are genuine. Suppose it makes them feel good. But holding the genuine article in your hands, and the history that goes with it, well that's priceless.

Even if he does hint that they are copies, they are described a "Original getreue" which is deliberately false and misleading , as they only have a vague passing resemblance to the original.

I have twice been in touch with ebay to express my opinions that this cap is fake and that the seller is trying to sell this item as an original item but still they seem not to have taken any interest. I have told them that I know where he has obtained this cap from and it is a copy. Still no joy, so much for the so called 'ebay police'. If it had been in this country I'm sure it would have been removed, as some of the German stuff I've tried to sell has been taken off even though there were no nasty symbols.
