    FB,
Is he wearing a cape or is he just treating his overcoat like one? I've seen the Luftwaffe ones but never one for the SS. Just curious.

    It's a cape.

There were two types of black cape for the SS: A cloth cape [Umhang] and a weatherproof cape [Wetterschutz-Umhang]. Both were introduced in 1934.

Umhänge were not just worn by the Luftwaffe; the Heer, Kriegsmarine, SS, NSDAP, RAD and other uniformed organisations all had their own capes.

Eicke was very seized of capes, and these were an undress option in the SS.

But this side cap does not fill me with joy, that I shall say.

At the same time, I will leave the search for fakes to others.

I blundered across this one and was puzzled by it.

Well I'm endorsing this cap and this thread! Can't get enough of Papa Eicke!

Oh, and forgot to ask, what size cap did Eicke wear?

Do relieve me of some confusion, you are saying that this cap is authentic, and why?

And, secondly, you are celebrating the memory of a man who was, variously, a lunatic, a terrorist, and a mass murderer?

You apparently want to be thrown off this website.

In case some doubt adheres, Eicke would have murdered me because of my lineage, had he got his hands on me.
His acolytes and followers, who are forbidden on this site, would do the same to me today.
Hence, I remind you that this site is not for neo Nazi celebrations either by eleven year olds or by anyone.
I should not have to write this. The moderators should do their job and I should not have to ask, even once.
