Good catch on Berchtes "gaden" misspelling. Another factor is the tendency for these caps to be aged or worn in specific ways. As soon as I saw the interior photo and the way the cap looked as if it had been squeezed and misshapen, it was apparent someone was trying to add fake wear and tear to it. I have owned or handled period caps with wear and tear but nothing that looked that obvous. NH
