German cap- repro or real ?

This is an East German cap on which someone has slapped a combination of an SS eagle and an army cockade/wreath.

Its a one look fake. It is a rebadged post war East German visor cap. A complete and terrible fake.

Poor attempt at trying to replicate a Third Reich visor. If you see the stamp inside "NVA - Nationale Volksaree" (Army of East Germany) you can determine that is a typical post war cap. You should find many examples of these fakes on the forum.

I don't know caps, but I believe I can say with a fair degree of certainty that it's a fake! It's got an SS eagle with Heer cockade. Also, isn't NVA the Nationale Volksarmee (DDR)?

EDIT: Beaten to it a record number of times!

I like it! I think I will start using that one!

That being said, NVA stuff isn't completely not valuable. There is a reasonable collector base for it. The problem is there is an absolutely ridicules amount of it, so there's much more supply than demand. I like to think that in 20 years it will be profoundly valuable and I will be able to sell off my NVA collection for thousands, but that's probably not going to happen.
