German cold weather helmet?? If not, what?

Hi, Please see the accompanying photos of what I believe to be a German WWII period cold weather helmet. I have tried to ID the manufacturer but to no avail. Can anyone supply information and comment on the hat, its age and the manufacturer please??

Pictures 1 to 4 show the general aspcts of the helmet.
Picture 5 shows the underside od the chin strap stud
Picture 6 shows the liner detail and manufacturer's label. The label appears to show the date of manufacture??

Any ideas or comments welcome!!

Period item but not sure if it is military - people wore those after the war as well - riding bikes or as winter hats.

Hi kradman, Thank you for your observations. The size is, as you rightly say, an ink stamp. However, the date is actually woven into the label.

If you look up GA Hoffmann they did make peak caps in the war for the German forces and also flying helmets so maybe this hat is ok ,Could be a item made for that first cold winter in Russia
