German diplomat visor

Article about: Hi, this visor is for sale at tradera at the moment. Just wonder how common/uncommon these visors are? Judging by the price (4500€) it would be? And of course, it's not a repro?

    Hi Anton

In my opinion these are extremely rare especially in the field grey.

The only example I have found in the books belonged to the foreign minister himself.

If it's a good one then the price is a bargain.

Personally it's hard to say from these pictures if its a TR era made cap.

What colour is the piping , silver or white ?

Let's see who else comes in on the discussion.

A;lthough the wreaths are completely different , the eagles do seem to match, i think this is one for Erich to have a look at, he collects the more exotic caps but the piping appears silver cord , it would be helpful if there were clearer shots of the interior and more details

I've only handled one grey Diplomat visor and so am by no means "familiar" with these. That being said this one shown puts me off. The color of the cap body is not grey for one, more green than a grey diplomat should be and I don't think the insignia is good. I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't a rebadged first model Bahnschutz officer due to the silver piping.

I would be very careful with any Stechbarth made cap. All the diplo ones I have seen by this maker were fakes, and very hi-quality fakes at that. IMHO, this is a heavyweight fake, made by the same guy who was faking Erels back in the 80's. The eagle is Pakistani junk.
