Default German Wool Cap Real? Panzer or SS?

Hey folks, I usually pass up cloth items as I simply cannot study everything. The material feels right for this time period. The front button is correct with the pebbled surface and shows wear. The inside seems to show decent wear. I cannot make out the stamp inside. The trapezoid patch seems to show wear and age. I am not sure if this is a period piece. I also do not know what model this is or if it is for a Panzer crew, SS soldier or Panzer SS. Thanks for any help. The price was right so I had to jump on it.

The cut of the flap is unlike any sidecap worn by the German armed forces and the trapezoid patch (it is an SS one) was for wear on the model 1943 Einheitsfeldmütze, not the Schiffchen. The black one, specifically, was for on the black EFM.

The stamp is very hard to make out, but to me, the word written in the larger capital letters looks like "ТЕАТР", i.e. "THEATER" in Russian.

I've only got $50 in it so I figured it was worth rolling the dice

The insignia is also very poor quality reproduction.

Thanks Bob, good to know. At least not a pricy gamble.
