I got offered this ss visor, but its not really my field. I never even had one in my hand before, but Im aware that they are extensively faked so opinions would be highly appreciated. Hope the pics are ok.

Pictures that are close-up and in focus would help provide a more definitive answer. The insignia appear fake and I agree with Patrick above.

Perhaps a period cap masquerading as an SS officer cap or a ground up fake altogether. Closer inspection is needed before a concrete assessment is given.
