A nice surprise to find in your purchase. It took me a while to find the one I wanted.
    Congrats!

One last footnote if I may.. These items were brought back by Mark Remi Peltier (deceased) 736th tank battalion U.S. army, and purchased from his family today.

A fine hat, for sure! Alot of G.I.'s liked getting a hold of these, as they were one of the best Winter hats out there and could be worn anywhere.

Its in great shape. All of the rabbit fur is still there from what I can see. I would think of wearing it if my head wasn't so big.

This is the first I have heard that they were issued without insignia. Nice to know.

UK: Great find! I have one of these as well ('43, sized 55). Been tempted to try it out one day when I was snow blowing! LoL. I have seen these mostly with metal eagles. Mine is cloth which I have only seen a handful of.
