I think it is an original Hans Brandt cap from the 'beehive' hoard, but if possible can you post a better pictures of the insignia and the makers mark and grommets. I would just like to be 100% certain, as this maker has been faked.

I agree with Jerry. I too am fairly sure it is good.

Good pics of the air vent grommets are always important to see when looking at any tropical cap.

Agree, another Brandt from the beehive cache. 842 is Aug 1942. Original un-issued tropical sidecap with factory applied insignia. Nice to see one without postwar soutache added. While these were used in Afrika, they also saw service in many areas in the Sud Front.
